Lucas Matson, Founder and CPA

After graduating with a Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Washington in 2012, Lucas started his career at Deloitte Tax in San Jose preparing returns and auditing financial statements for some of the biggest tech corporations in the world. From medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotech to Fintech, SaaS, computer hardware, and gaming, he saw it all.

After a 3-month rotation in India at the end of 2015, Lucas joined Deloitte’s M&A practice in San Francisco. Flying all over the US to conduct tax diligence on potential targets, he continued learning new skills like how to build a deal-close model that mapped the flow of billions of dollars down to the last penny. Sadly, after 5 years of public accounting, Lucas decided to quit his job and embarked on a grand pilgrimage from Seattle to Antarctica.

It was on this journey, while completing a six-month residency in Buenos Aires, that he founded LDC Financial to manage the books of a short-term rental business operating in one of George Washington’s former homes in Virginia. Since then, Lucas has served clients all over the USA, providing a wide variety of tax and accounting services in his capacities as CPA, even running diligence on an M&A deal involving a Puerto Rican 0% corporate income tax rate structure. With a wealth of experience and technical skills, Lucas is excited to enable his clients with strategic, tech-focused solutions to solve their accounting, finance, and tax reporting needs.
